Audience research: Survey monkey Reflective comments

- I consider this relevant as I've learned how to make a survey for my work. It can target audiences effectively and I think it is a good way of getting audiences involved as they can be entertained while giving feedback at the same time.

- I have learned from the experience about how to create a survey, how to phrase a question so I receive the answers I need, and how to make a survey appropriate for a certain audience.

- It helps with my own production plans as it has given me an idea of what an audience might like to see from a film noir and what they expect from a traditional film noir.

- I think the process is quite effective; it is a good way of collecting feedback and it is quick too, so the audience does not get bored of taking the survey.

Critical theory: SLIDESHARE research on the theme of film noir.

This is a presentation about Film Noir which I found on the website SLIDESHARE. I found it really helped to give me more infomation on the topic of Film Noir and helped me understand the conventions of Film Noir even more.
- I consider it relevant because one of our main topics is the conventions, and this could really help me with my own film production of film noir.
- I have learned a lot from this presentation; including more about the camera angles as I did not really know much more about this before. However now I feel like this could include more typical or even untypical camera shots of a film noir.
- It informs my own production plans as now I feel like I could create a film noir which is more typcial if I wanted to follow the conventions listed here, or if I wanted to make an untypical film, I could break these conventions. So it has really helped me think of a variety of ways I could film my film noir, to make it more interesting.

Planning: Target audience

The target audience for film is very important. It is vital to have a target audience in mind before producing a film, and to understand why films can be very different when suited to different people.

Our target audience for our film noir is most likely to be teenage girls. This is because we, as teenage girls, will be able to understand what they expect and enjoy from a film, and will be able to create this.

Here is an article on target audience:

Critical theory: Reflective Comments

My strengths and fears for this unit.

Strengths

  • I'm well organised and I like having a list of things to do so I know exactly what to do and when I need to do it by.
  • Work well within a group and independently
  • Comfortable using a camera
Fears

  • Creating music for the film as I have never done it before
  • Uploading the film to the Internet
  • Editing the film and making it worthy of a good grade
